Alyson Stoner appearance on Much Music on Demand, Canada on July 1st2008. Transcript by Cameron.

Tim: Alyson Stoner from Alice Upside Down out on DVD July 29th. Are you excited about it?

Alyson: Oh my gosh, I'm so stoked. And to have people here, and hear what I've been working on is just a really exciting experience.

Tim: For those of you who don't know.. (He recaps the movie).. have you ever been that person who kind of felt like the odd one out?

Alyson: Of Course. I think that everyone can relate to this character because there's a point in everyone's life when they're unsure of themselves and they don't have the confidence to fit in, and I think everyone can attest to that. And what I really appreciate about the character is that when she's humiliated, she's not cheesy about it. It's very realistic and real true events that would happen in real life, and everyone falls in love with her; she's the underdog that everyone wants to see succeed.

Tim: It's true tho. Some of the stuff that happens, it's like, that happed to me in high school, and it sucked!

Alyson: Yeah, I can really relate.. it's bad.

(They show a clip from the movie, then talk about the clip a little bit.)

Tim: See there's another scene I want to know about... Luke Perry playing your father, and you're sitting there, you're crying and emotional and hugging him and stuff. Very nice scene but do you ever worry what you look like, because I'm like, I don't want anybody seeing me cry. And some people..

Alyson: Honey, you don't have anything to worry about. ( Implying he's good looking. She smiles. Audience woos He laughs.)

Alyson: No, but I am very self conscious, but being Alice in Alice Upside Down, there's no rules, there's no limits, because she has no style, or makeup or hair. you just can't worry about that when you're being in character.

Tim: You don't have a ugly cry then. I just want you to know that.

Alyson: (through a laugh) Well thank you.

Tim: Some people do, but you don't have it.

Alyson: Well hey, I tried to make it look good? I guess?

Tim: (laughs) Alright, well, you also recently did a movie camp rock, with, you know, the Jonas Brothers.

Alyson: Who?

Tim: The Jonas Brothers.

Alyson: Who are they?

Tim: Well they're this band, and they're kinda big.

Alyson: Ah, okay, I've heard of them. I think they're in high school musical.

Tim: I want to know.. we want to know, what are they really like in person?

Alyson: They are the sweetest guys you'll ever meet in real life. What I really appreciate about them is they have a strong family bond and it's nice to see that in the business

Tim: It is, it really is.

Alyson: Yeah.

Tim: I got to meet them and there parents were so involved but not overpowering.

Alyson: Yeah, it's great.

Tim: You're going to one of there concerts soon aren't you?

Alyson: I am, yeah, in Phoenix

Tim: So you've made friends with them and hung out with them? Or you're just kinda going as a fan?

Alyson: I do, I go as a fan and as a friend. I love supporting them and everything they've accomplished. I really look up to them.

Tim: Right on. Well you've actually accomplished a lot yourself.

Alyson: Thank you.

Tim: You've been very busy, and I was wondering, how do you keep your focus? How do you stay on track? It's so hard.

Alyson: Well, I have my priorities in check. I know education and family and health come first before career. And I have a great solid support system. My mom goes with me everywhere, and it's important for me to have a strong valence of friends in the business and outside, so I don't get so consumed with the fame and fortune, and the reason I'm in the business is to share my gift with everyone, it's not for the glory.

Tim: Very nice, very nice. You've mentioned education. How do you fit that in there? Do you do correspondence or do you take time off from your busy work schedule?

Alyson: (Laughs) Well, I'm a total nerd, so I've actually graduated and I'm supposed to be starting college as soon as possible, so I fit it into my schedule It's a priority; you have to make time for it.

Tim: That's unbelievable

Alyson: And that's why I look up to Natalie Port man and Jodi Foster, because they're very knowledgeable, and that takes there acting to the next level.

Tim: Well congratulations, already completed school.. (Crowd cheers) ..and going to college, wow, that's so soon to be doing that. Well we've actually seen you in a lot of music videos here at much music..

Alyson: Oh really?

Tim: Do you know what we're going to ask you?

Alyson: (smiling) Um, I can kind of second guess.

Tim: Well, how did you hook up with Missy Elliot?

Alyson: It was just a regular audition and I almost said no because I didn't know what the material was, but my sister said it was okay, so I went to the audition, and they saw the potential in me, and they gave me the job, and when I was on set I got to meet her, and she's just a phenomenal person. She put me in all the clean parts of the song, so my grandma who was watching wasn't ashamed.

Tim: (Laughing) Yeah.

Alyson: So that's always good.

Tim: Well that's amazing. And you went on to dance in Eminence's video as well.

Alyson: Yes.

Time: I want to know if you can teach me something. I'm a horrible dancer.

Alyson: Well sure. Would you guys like to see him dance?

(Crowd cheers. She shows him how to do the "work it" dance.)

Alyson: You have potential, I can see it in you, you have the talent. Just maybe practice in front of your mirror a little bit.

Tim: You know what? You nailed the frog dance in the movie.

(Alyson laughs, and bends over). Alyson: It's so embarrassing

Tim: I'm work's it.

Alyson: You are so work's it. Everyone give it up for him, he's got rhythm! (crowd cheers)

Tim: I'm on fire.

Alyson: You're on fire..

Tim: Thank you very much for coming down today. (They hug) It was nice acing you here.

Alyson: Thank you.

Tim: The DVD comes out July 29th.

Alyson: Thank you
